About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pool Technician/Serviceman to join our growing team at Narellan Pools in Toowoomba and the Lockyer Valley. This is a full-time position based in Toowoomba, QLD 4350. In this role, you will be the backbone of our service operations, responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing residential pools as well as cleaning and installing accessories ready for handover to the client You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure all pool systems are functioning optimally, providing customers with safe, clean and well-maintained facilities. This position is critical to our business success and offers the opportunity to build a rewarding career in the trades.
Key responsibilities
1. Perform routine pool maintenance including chemical balancing, filtration system checks and cleaning of pools and equipment
2. Diagnose and repair pool equipment such as pumps, filters, heating systems and chlorination systems
3. Conduct water testing and analysis, adjusting chemical levels to ensure water quality meets safety standards
4. Install pool equipment and components according to specifications and safety guidelines
5. Provide excellent customer service,
explaining maintenance procedures and advising on pool care best practices
6. Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs undertaken and parts used
7. Troubleshoot complex pool system issues and implement effective solutions
8. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
9. Travel to customer locations throughout the Toowoomba region to deliver in office services
What we’re looking for
1. Proven experience as a Pool Technician or similar role in pool maintenance and repair
2. Sound knowledge of pool chemistry, water treatment and filtration systems
3. Competency in diagnosing and repairing pool equipment and mechanical systems
4. Relevant qualifications or certifications in pool maintenance or water treatment (preferred)
5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
6. Excellent communication abilities and a customer-focused approach
7. Reliability and the ability to work independently whilst maintaining team collaboration
8. A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to service locations
9. Physical fitness and capability to perform manual tasks and work in outdoor conditions
10. Commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety standards
