About the Role

As a Senior Traffic & Transport Engineer you will play a key role in delivering specialist guidance for projects, proposals, programs and improvements in the fields of road safety and traffic engineering, including concept development of cost effective solutions and management of statutory processes. You will thrive in this role if you are adaptable, values-driven, and enjoy making processes run smoothly behind the scenes.

Reporting to the Coordinator – Traffic & Transport the core responsibilities include:





- Ensure appropriate forward planning is undertaken for transport related programs and projects (including Roads to Recovery, Blackspot, footpath program).
- Develop and manage projects in the Council’s Capital Works Program for traffic engineering and road safety related infrastructure proposals, including local area traffic management treatments.
- Provide specialist traffic engineering advice and undertake investigations as required.

About You

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in Local Government Engineering/Infrastructure, Traffic Engineering and working in a political setting is preferred.
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence is essential.
- Preferred experience in CAD, Speed Sign Management System/Speedi, SIDRA, Crashstats, Vlimits and Local Government systems.
