Job Title: Senior Accountant & Financial Controller

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant & Financial Controller to support day-to-day financial operations for a growing construction and real estate investment company. We are a Custom Home Builder and Real Estate Investment Company located in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.

Key Responsibilities

Although we do allow for flexible work scheduling, job usually requires being available during EST standard working hours.

Perform daily bookkeeping and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records. This includes making sure all job costing and accounting synchronizes between project management software and quickbooks. Reconciling transfers and equity balances across different sets of books. Preparing Investor reports monthly. Total of 10 sets of books.

Run payroll using Gusto or similar platforms





Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and internal reporting

Generate and distribute financial reports as needed

Handle 1099 filings and collect W-9s from contractors and vendors

Manage accounts payable including invoice and bill payments

Track insurance compliance for subcontractors and vendors

Preferred Experience & Tools:

Experience with the following tools is a plus but not required:

Gusto (Payroll)

JobTread (Construction project management)

QuickBooks (Accounting software)

Microsoft Excel

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a construction finance, accounting, or operations support role

Solid attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Familiarity with bookkeeping, payroll, and contractor compliance

Experience in or exposure to the construction industry is a plus
