About the role

We are currently looking to hire an experienced Senior Estimator for our Steel SA division.

You'll manage and estimate Design & Construct and pre-designed steel projects from concept through to hand-over. It's a hands-on role, you'll own project costs, timelines and quality outcomes, while building strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.

What you'll do

- Estimate project costs across materials, equipment and labour
- Lead single or multiple projects end-to-end within cost, quality, safety and time targets
- Evaluate project risks and opportunities through research and analysis
- Negotiate and manage supply of labour and materials




- Act as the key point of contact for clients on project matters
- Keep the Project Management team updated on progress
- Flag any substandard workmanship/cost related issues early
- Stay across the latest construction techniques and industry trends

What you'll bring

- Experience with estimating systems/programs
- Solid exposure to the construction industry
- Current driver's licence and White Card
- Strong planning, time management and prioritisation skills
- Confident communicator who builds relationships internally and externally easily
- Ability to lead others and make sound calls under pressure
- Sharp attention to detail

Nice to have

- First Aid Certificate
- Tertiary quals in building, engineering, quantity surveying or similar
- Experience with building estimating systems
- A track record of growing business opportunities
