About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior EHS Advisor to provide leadership and specialist support in Environment, Health, Safety and Rail Safety across major transport infrastructure projects in South East Melbourne.

This is a key role responsible for driving safety excellence, strengthening governance frameworks and partnering with project leaders to ensure compliance with EHS and Rail Safety management systems. The successful candidate will provide expert advice, influence safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives across complex project environments.

Working closely with senior operational leaders, project teams, contractors and regulatory stakeholders, you will play a critical role in embedding proactive risk management practices and achieving strong safety outcomes.

You will:

- Provide senior-level EHS and Rail Safety advice, guidance and support to project leadership teams
- Lead, mentor and develop safety professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, capability uplift and continuous improvement across project teams
- Provide leadership, direction and support to safety teams,



ensuring effective delivery of EHS and Rail Safety objectives
- Lead the implementation, review and continuous improvement of EHS and Rail Safety management systems, plans and procedures
- Develop and review safety documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments and project safety plans
- Conduct audits, inspections and assurance activities, identifying improvement opportunities and driving corrective actions
- Monitor safety performance metrics, analyse trends and provide insights to improve project outcomes
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and the implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions
- Provide expert support in risk management processes, including project risk registers, hazard identification and control measures
- Support the development and delivery of safety campaigns, training programs, inductions and awareness initiatives
- Mentor and support junior safety professionals, promoting capability uplift and strengthening safety leadership across project teams
- Build strong relationships with contractors, subcontractors, project stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Ensure compliance with WHS,



Rail Safety and environmental legislation, standards and company requirements
- Support workers compensation, injury management and return-to-work processes
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities, drills and safety performance reviews

About You:

- Proven experience in a senior EHS, WHS or Rail Safety leadership role within infrastructure, transport, construction or engineering environments
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and mentoring safety teams and developing high-performing safety cultures
- Strong experience working within complex project environments, ideally within major infrastructure or rail projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety management systems, risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including project leaders, contractors and operational teams
- Strong incident investigation, auditing and continuous improvement experience
- Excellent communication, reporting and technical writing skills
- Ability to provide strategic safety advice while maintaining strong operational focus
- A proactive approach with the ability to lead initiatives, inspire teams and drive positive safety outcomes
