CORE Innovation Hub is seeking an experienced Precinct Lead to take charge of the Australian Automation & Robotics Precinct (AARP) in Neerabup, WA. Operated on behalf of the WA Government, the AARP is Australia’s premier testing and development ground for cutting-edge automation, robotics, and remote operations.
The Precinct Lead is responsible for the operational excellence, financial management, and end-to-end user experience (UX) of the Australian Automation & Robotics Precinct (AARP), operated by CORE Innovation Hub on behalf of the WA Government.
This role ensures the precinct runs safely, efficiently, and to a world-class standard. The Precinct Lead acts as the primary custodian of the facility, balancing rigorous commercial acumen—including budgeting, forecasting, and pricing—with a relentless focus on delivering a seamless, high-satisfaction customer journey for all users, tenants, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Excellence & User Experience (UX)
- Lead the day-to-day management, safety, and logistical operations of the precinct.
- Design and deliver a seamless, positive customer experience from end-to-end (from initial onboarding and asset booking to on-site execution and offboarding).
- Ensure high-quality delivery of precinct services, facilities, testbeds, and digital user interfaces.
- Develop, implement, and optimise annual operational and precinct activation plans
- Continue to develop and grow an engaged robotics and automation community through monthly ecosystem activations
- Foster a proactive customer-service culture across the staff to maximise user retention and satisfaction.
- Take full accountability for the precinct’s financial performance,
including the formulation of rigorous budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable, and cost management.
- Develop, review, and optimise commercial pricing structures for facility usage, testbeds, and services to maximise revenue while lowering barriers to entry.
- Negotiate and manage commercial agreements, user and partner contracts, and vendor arrangements to ensure compliance and profitability.
- Provide regular, transparent financial reporting and operational performance metrics to CORE Innovation Hub leadership and DevelopmentWA.
- Focus on driving the utilisation and occupancy of the precinct’s physical assets and test beds among existing and incoming users.
- Build and maintain deep, trust-based relationships with current users, anchor tenants, industry bodies, partners, government agencies, and research organisations.
- Act as the primary on-site ambassador for the AARP, ensuring strong alignment with DevelopmentWA and CORE Innovation Hub's broader strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities to add value for existing users through collaborative projects, pilot programs, and ecosystem networking.
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and direction to the multi-disciplinary precinct team including Technology Manager, Events & Administration Coordinator,
Marketing Lead and Safety Advisors.
- Embed a strict, zero-harm safety culture across all industrial, testing, and office environments in coordination with the Safety Team.
- Ensure staff performance is directly aligned with operational KPIs, financial targets, and stakeholder expectations.
Skills & Experience
- Operational Leadership: Experience managing complex facilities, industrial sites, innovation precincts, or technology-focused operations.
- Strong Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in end-to-end financial management, including budgeting, forecasting and pricing models.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Demonstrated success in designing and delivering positive user experiences (UX) within a B2B or industrial/service workplace.
- Contract Negotiation: Strong experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing vendor/user compliance.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional relationship building skills across industry, government, technical teams, and current partners
- People Management: Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience or strong familiarity with automation, robotics, mining, defence, advanced manufacturing, or related heavy-industry sectors.
- Understanding of the Australian innovation ecosystem including key stakeholders across government, academia and industry
- Experience working with government funded infrastructure projects
