Job Summary

Temporary Part Time – 17.75 hours per week at Jan Juc Pre School, part of Surf Coast Shire Council. Salary dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

- Provide a high‑quality education and care program that meets approved learning frameworks and the Victorian Government National Quality Standards.
- Support an inclusive and safe environment that encourages innovation, creativity, active play and resilience.

Hours

17.75 hours per week: 14 hours contact time and 3.75 hours non‑contact time (negotiable spread across the week).

Contact time: Monday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm; Tuesday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services from an ACECQA approved training organisation.
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families.
- Experience developing and implementing educational programs in accordance with approved learning frameworks.
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Child Safe Standards and understanding of their impact on daily practice.




- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with children, staff and the wider community.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff.
- Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues in the workplace.
- Current level II First Aid qualification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR.
- Mandatory Reporting training and GECCO Early Childhood Compliance training.

Required Knowledge

- Knowledge of early childhood development and practice.
- Knowledge of approved learning frameworks, the National Quality Framework, national law and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices.
- Understanding that the paramount consideration of children’s safety, rights and best interests is a statutory duty.
