Additional Information
- This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
- The internal job title is Visual Merchandising/Activity Co-worker.
- This role is located on-site at IKEA Rhodes.
- You must have the availability to work 7:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and public holiday shifts as required by business needs.
- As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks.
- Successful candidates will need to obtain a National Police Check.
Recruitment Process Overview

- Video Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a brief video interview.
- Group Interview: Candidates who progress to the next stage will be invited to attend a group interview on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.
- Panel interview: as final round, you will be invited to meet with two members of the hiring team for an in‑person interview.

- Contributing to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
- Creating inspiring and commercially relevant home furnishing solutions that improve people’s lives at home.
- Using your visual merchandising and design expertise to strengthen the IKEA identity through store layout, range presentation and customer experience.
- Planning, coordinating and delivering projects from concept through to implementation,
ensuring deadlines and commercial objectives are met.
- Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across the store to bring ideas to life and influence positive business outcomes.
- Communicating and presenting design concepts in a explicit, engaging and commercially compelling way.
- Supporting a culture of collaboration by sharing knowledge, providing constructive feedback and contributing to team success.
- Being active and hands‑on throughout the store, ensuring ideas are successfully executed to a high standard.
Who you are
- Passionate about home furnishing and curious about how people live in their homes.
- A creative thinker with strong commercial visual competence and a keen eye for design and aesthetics.
- Experienced in visual merchandising, spatial planning, interior design or a similar discipline.
- Experienced using digital and design programs such as Microsoft Apps, Revit and/or SketchUp to develop concepts and turn ideas into reality.
- Practical and hands‑on, with the ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced retail environment.
- A strong communicator who can build effective relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable taking initiative, influencing others and driving projects to successful outcomes.
- Able to balance creative thinking, commercial priorities and operational execution to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Formally qualified in design, interior design, visual merchandising or a related field, or equivalent professional visual merchandising experience.
