Looking for an Analytics Engineer who wants ownership over reporting that actually gets used. This role owns the dbt-built data layer and Power BI semantic models behind commercial reporting - diagnosing issues, shipping fixes, and levelling up how the business sees its own numbers.
You'll work across Snowflake, dbt, and Power BI, sitting between data engineering and the business teams who rely on the numbers daily. It's part detective work (root-causing failed dbt jobs, refresh failures, and metric mismatches) and part builder (designing modular dbt models and DAX-driven semantic layers that make reporting faster, cleaner, and more trustworthy).
Responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and resolving reporting defects, metric discrepancies, failed dbt jobs, and Power BI refresh or performance issues
- Designing and maintaining modular dbt models, with automated tests, documentation, and lineage built in
- Developing and optimising Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, and dashboards
- Working with business stakeholders to define metrics,
gather requirements, and validate that what's built matches what's needed
- Deciding whether logic belongs in dbt or the Power BI semantic layer to cut down on duplicated calculations
- Contributing to standards, code review, and CI/CD practices across the reporting stack
Skills we are looking for:
- Advanced SQL and dimensional modelling
- Hands-on production experience with dbt
- Advanced Power BI semantic modelling and DAX
- Experience with Snowflake
- Comfort diagnosing issues across the full stack — warehouse, transformation, and reporting layers
- Git-based development experience, with code review, testing, and CI/CD
- Solid stakeholder communication - you can translate business asks into technical solutions
- Experience in retail media, adtech, marketing analytics, ecommerce, or marketplace analytics is a plus
