About This Role

- VPS Grade 5: $116,413 - $140,849 plus superannuation.

About The Role

The MPP role sits within the prison leadership group and will contribute to the strategic direction and operational leadership of the facility. This will include leading the implementation of the Professional Practice Model. Working across both operational and strategic settings, the role drives the integration of best-practice approaches aligned with the Correctional Practice Framework (CPF). Through targeted career development, reflective learning, and continuous practice improvement initiatives, the MMP role strengthens correctional standards, supports staff wellbeing and decision making, and contributes to safe, consistent environments and improved outcomes for people in custody. The MPP role provides specialist practice leadership across the prison, strengthening the quality and effectiveness of correctional engagement and management of people in our care. The role supports custodial staff through their expert advice, coaching, and case consultation, while leading initiatives that embed contemporary correctional practice. In doing so, the MPP plays a key role in developing a positive prison culture focused on professional and contemporary correctional practice.

Some Of Your Duties Will Include

- Leading and developing professional practice capability providing leadership, coaching, and performance oversight (direct and indirect)



to strengthen the capability of custodial staff and embed evidence-based correctional practice.
- Providing expert practice advice and leadership, providing subject matter expertise, and influencing decision-making to support best-practice correctional approaches across the prison.
- Driving continuous improvement in correctional practice. Leading and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of correctional practice and service delivery.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practice, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred and desistance-focused approaches to rehabilitation.
- Experience supporting complex and high-risk clients through evidence-based, person-centred practice, working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, criminology, human services, or related disciplines.
- Tertiary qualifications in training, assessment, teaching, or education.
- Formal training or certification in trauma-informed practice, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural interventions, or other evidence-based correctional approaches.
- Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (CSC40120).
