About the Role

As an imperative part of the Workers Compensation and Injury Management (WCIM) team, the Workers Compensation Claims Management Officer is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of Workers Compensation and Personal Accident claims.

Additionally, you will provide valuable support and actively collaborate with stakeholders, implementing effective claims management strategies for DFES employees and eligible volunteers. Often the first point of contact for general enquires and matters relating to WCIM, your understanding of relevant legislations and industry standards will be essential is ensuring correct advice and guidance is provided to both internal and external stakeholders. With a commitment to safety and wellbeing, there will be opportunities to collaborate across other sectors of Human Resources and Safety, and Operational Commands, allowing continuous improvement of service delivery, project prospects, and further supporting the organisation.

Eligibility To Apply

You must be an Australian Citizen or hold permanentresidency.

National Police Certificate

A condition of employment for new employees of DFES is that a currentNational Police Certificate(less than 3 months old) is provided prior to commencement.

Choice of Super

The Fire and Emergency Services (Superannuation Fund) Regulations 1986, prevents DFES from offering choice of super for permanent appointments. Those appointed permanently, only have the following two options: Remain with their existing GESB Superannuation account; or Join the Fire and Emergency Services Superannuation Fund (Click here for more information). Those appointed on a fixed term contract do have choice of super, however if converted to permanent, employees will need to choose one on the two options listed above.
