Finance Business Partner

Sydney CBD | Up to $200k Package + Bonus

This is an opportunity to join one of Australia's leading infrastructure organisations in a commercially focused Finance Business Partner role, supporting major investment decisions that will shape the future of the business.

Working within a high-performing Commercial Finance team, you'll partner with senior leaders across Commercial, Network Portfolio and Innovation, providing the financial insight, commercial challenge and strategic support required to deliver complex capital programs and regulatory outcomes.

This is far more than budgeting and reporting. You'll influence significant investment decisions, support regulatory submissions, develop robust financial models and business cases, and help tell the commercial story behind some of the organisation's most important initiatives.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, you'll join a lean, collaborative team where you'll have genuine ownership and exposure across the business.

You'll work closely with Commercial Directors, Portfolio Managers and senior stakeholders to:

- Partner with the business on major capital investment decisions and commercial initiatives.
- Develop financial models, forecasts and business cases to support strategic decision-making.
- Support regulatory submissions through robust financial analysis and commercial justification.
- Provide guidance around capex and opex treatment, investment governance and cost recoverability.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, commercially focused insights.
- Challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and influence better business outcomes.
- Work across Finance, Commercial, Treasury and Regulatory teams to ensure alignment across the organisation.

so we're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, can operate comfortably in ambiguity and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo.

About You

We're looking for an ambitious finance professional with strong technical capability and excellent commercial acumen.

You'll likely bring

- CA or CPA qualification.
- Experience within Big 4 Audit, Deals or Advisory before moving into commercial finance, or experience in a Commercial Finance, FP&A; or Finance Business Partner role within a large, complex organisation.
- Solid financial modelling, forecasting and analytical capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage and influence senior leaders.
- The ability to move seamlessly between strategic conversations and detailed financial analysis.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and genuine curiosity to understand how the wider business operates.

Experience within infrastructure, utilities, engineering or other capital-intensive industries will be highly regarded, although candidates from other complex corporate environments are also encouraged to apply. What's on Offer?
