Description:
The Risk department oversees EML's fraud management obligations for our global prepaid card portfolios in Australia, Europe and North America. In your role as a Senior Financial Crime Operations Analyst you will be a motivated team player with an eye for detail and passion for analytics. You will implement and action accurate responses to fraud detection alerts, assist in the design of risk analytics and contribute to the design and execution of reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
Major accountabilities for the roles include, but are not limited to
- Investigate the legitimacy of fraud alerts in accordance with EML's Fraud Risk Management procedures
- Provide continuous improvement recommendations on detection rules/systems to increase the effectiveness of current fraud detection systems
- Proactively recognise opportunities to reduce potential fraud exposures and money laundering risk
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly reporting in accordance with internal and external guidelines and processes
- Monitoring incoming payments and validating payment sources where applicable
- Assist in month end fraud reporting for the greater business
- Handling of disputes and chargebacks
- Maintaining accurate, current records/filing for all payment correspondence, BIN sponsorship and scheme liaison, ensuring ease of use/access for internal and external auditors
- Assist with complaint handling, including where escalated through AFCA
- Assist with the managing third parties and vendors especially those that provide fraud and AML risk management tools to EML
- Assist with payment approvals,
and the application of controls relating to fraud and risk more broadly
- Assist with the mentorship of the fraud risk analysts within the team
- Analyse new business/programs, making risk assessments and implementing any required control improvements

As a self-starter, you demonstrate the ability to take the initiative and you are capable of working independently with a high attention to detail and accountability for your work but also enjoy working in a collaborative team environment
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- At least two years-experience in a fraud /financial crime role or similar
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce or Information Technology is desired
- Advanced knowledge of Excel is required
- Developed understanding of SQL, and data analytics tools such as Power BI
- Knowledge of other programming languages would be beneficial
- Possess an intellectual curiosity about how processes succeed or fail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
