About the Role

We’re on the lookout for an exceptional Head Chef to lead our passionate kitchen team at Morning After Cafe , a vibrant café located in the heart of West End, Queensland. As Head Chef, you’ll take the reins of our kitchen operations and help shape a creative, evolving menu that keeps our guests coming back. This is a full time leadership position in a fun, collaborative work environment where fresh ideas and great food go hand in hand.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu design with owner Yianni, food preparation, and quality control.
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a supportive and high-performing culture.
- Develop innovative dishes that reflect seasonal produce, modern food trends, and our signature creative style.
- Ensure the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen efficiency.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver a seamless and memorable customer experience.
- Contribute to the vision and strategy of the kitchen, supporting the growth and direction of the venue.
- Every new menu we have a professional photographer come in to take photos & videos where we plate up dishes to market our inspirational food.





What We’re Looking For

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior role within a high-quality restaurant or café.
- Strong leadership skills and a passion for building a positive team culture.
- Excellent culinary skills and a flair for flavour, presentation, and creativity.
- Attention to detail and a drive for consistency, quality, and cleanliness.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
