Role Description As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Swiss Cheese AI, you will lead the mechanical design and development of a hardware device that support our multi-agent AI systems. On a day-to-day basis, you will own concept development, detailed design, modeling, and documentation of mechanical assemblies, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in software, electronics, and product management.

You will perform engineering analyses, select materials and components, and work with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimized for performance, reliability, and cost. You will review designs from peers, provide technical mentorship,



and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and processes. This is a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Sydney Area, with a mix of on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

- Strong mechanical engineering foundation, including Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design skills.
- Expertise in Design Engineering and Product Design for complex mechanical systems and assemblies.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and design documentation.
- Experience translating functional requirements into robust mechanical architectures and manufacturable designs.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and analyses (tolerance, stress, thermal, materials selection).
- Experience working with prototype development, testing, and design iteration in a product environment.
- Robust collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and prior experience in a senior or lead design role.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA) and working with suppliers is advantageous.
- Interest in AI, robotics, or intelligent hardware systems is a plus.
