The Conservation Regulator is hiring two Senior Permissions Officers within the Forests and Research Permissions team to undertake critical work in assessing permit applications and providing advice to the Victorian public regarding forest and wildlife laws.

These roles are responsible for processing of permit applications for a range of permissions administered by the Conservation Regulator under the Wildlife Act 1975, the Forests Act 1958 and the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act 1988.

The Senior Permissions Officers will work within the Forests and Research team to ensure high quality and efficient permissions assessment and decisions. The positions lead consultation in regards to permission assessment, including with internal and external stakeholders. The positions also have a focus on continuous improvement in line with best practice regulation.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Expertise in the administration of permits is desirable.

Prior experience or knowledge of ecology, zoology or related disciplines is desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
