Your new company A globally recognised science and infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join its procurement team on an initial 6-month contract based in Perth or Geraldton. Operating in a highly regulated and project-driven environment, this organisation delivers world-leading scientific and engineering initiatives through collaboration with government agencies, research institutions, and international stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading complex RFQ, RFT and sourcing activities.
- Developing procurement and commercial strategies.
- Managing tender evaluations and supplier negotiations.
- Preparing procurement recommendations for governance committees.
- Supporting contract development and administration.
- Managing commercial risk and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and procurement best practice.
- Supporting procurement systems, processes and reporting frameworks.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful you will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience managing complex procurement and tendering activities.
- Strong contract negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Experience developing procurement strategies and sourcing plans.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Experience within a highly regulated setting such as government, infrastructure, defence, resources, utilities, engineering or major projects.
- Strong written communication and procurement governance experience.
- MCIPS accreditation or equivalent procurement qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to NEC4 contracts would be advantageous.
