Senior Project Engineer

Location: Perth, WA (Office-based with ad hoc site travel) Contract: 9-Month Contract

Start Date: ASAP An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a major energy infrastructure project supporting the delivery of a large-scale industrial facility.

Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will play a key role in coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities to ensure safe, efficient and successful project execution. This role is suited to a proactive Project Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced EPC environment and enjoys taking ownership of project outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating engineering activities across multiple disciplines while supporting construction and commissioning teams throughout the execution phase of the project. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, subcontractors, vendors and site personnel to ensure project deliverables are completed safely, on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities throughout project execution.
- Lead the delivery of engineering work packages from scope development through to completion.
- Define and manage project scope, schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate procurement activities for equipment and materials, ensuring timely delivery.
- Manage interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
- Provide engineering support during construction, installation and commissioning activities.
- Monitor project progress and proactively manage schedule-critical activities.
- Facilitate technical issue resolution between project stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate engineering consultants and vendors to ensure project requirements are achieved.
- Support project start-up, commissioning and close-out activities.




- Drive effective change management processes throughout project execution.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with HSE, quality and project standards.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to engineers and project team members as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience delivering engineering outcomes on major industrial or energy projects during the execution phase. You will be confident working independently, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

Essential Requirements

- Degree qualification in Engineering.
- Minimum 5–8 years' experience in Project Engineering within construction or industrial projects.
- Experience delivering multidisciplinary engineering packages.
- Strong background coordinating engineering, procurement and construction activities.
- Experience working closely with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and evolving project scopes.
- Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control and risk management.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health, safety and quality.

Highly Regarded

- Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I;) engineering background.
- Onshore Oil & Gas or process industry experience.
- Commissioning and start-up experience.
- EPC project delivery experience.
- Experience supporting major industrial or energy infrastructure projects.
