Location: Five Dock Maximum Term, full time position for 12 months

Lead Strategic

Projects with Impact About the role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering strategic programs and projects. You will lead strategic planning, coordinate complex initiatives, and ensure project outcomes meet quality standards and best practice.

You will work collaboratively across the Council to engage internal resources, manage project constraints, and facilitate post-project evaluations to drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:

Develop achievable project plans for the effective implementation and management of procurement, time, communications, change, risks, issues and budgets/ costs

Utilise financial data to effectively manage the project budget, and proactively work with Finance and the Asset Owner to ensure asset management data is captured for the long-term sustainability of Council assets

Coordinate and develop communication and consultation plans, related to the strategic vision or the delivery of the project; ensuring that all necessary internal and external stakeholders are relevantly engaged

Monitor ongoing project performance, track milestones, manage project scope changes, identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, manage conflicts, including using project management framework and systems





Develop stakeholder engagement and communication plans and working with other council officers across the different business units, proactively manage stakeholder expectations

Coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project goals and progress

Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and align with established best practices

Implement quality control processes and conduct regular reviews to identify areas for improvement Are You the Ideal Candidate?

The successful candidate will possess a blend of project management expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for driving positive change. Your ability to communicate effectively, negotiate skillfully, and resolve conflicts will be essential in this role.

Essential

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project/Construction Management, or a related field.

AIPM certification or equivalent (preferred).

Proven experience delivering construction or engineering projects, ideally in local or state government.

Strong understanding of local government processes and regulations.

Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage stakeholders effectively.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proficient in project management software, including MS Project.

Current Class C Driver Licence.

Current White Card (Construction Induction). What’s on offer





We are offering a remuneration between $130,153 to $149,676 per annum plus super.
