Lead Positive Change Across the Snowy Monaro Region

Monaro Family Support Service (MFSS) is a respected community-based, not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting children, young people, families and communities across the Snowy Monaro region since 1979. Guided by our vision of stronger families and thriving, resilient communities, we provide a range of support services including counselling, casework, information and referral, community education and group programs.

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth, sustainability and community impact. The role is part-time and currently 24 hours per week.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chair and Committee of Management, the CEO is responsible for implementing the strategic vision of MFSS while ensuring the organisation remains responsive, innovative and sustainable. You will provide leadership across strategy, governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement, workforce development and service delivery.

As the public face of the organisation, you will build and strengthen relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, community partners, donors and sector stakeholders, while championing the needs of families and communities across the region.

About You

You are a strategic and collaborative leader with a passion for community impact and strong experience leading people, programs and organisational performance.

You will bring:

- Significant senior leadership experience in community services, human services, health, not-for-profit management or a related sector.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organisational development and financial management.




- Experience working with Boards and supporting strong governance practices.
- A track record of securing and managing funding from government, philanthropic and other sources.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to represent an organisation with credibility and influence.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and building positive workplace cultures.
- An innovative mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and respond to emerging community needs.

Other Information

This position requires occasional travel and after-hours attendance at the Service or other locations for specific planned events.

From time to time this position may be assigned additional tasks within skill level, competency and experience, to meet short-term operational needs.

This position falls under the Social and Community Services (NSW) Award, and is currently classified as a Level 8 role.
