HRS039 Development Compliance Officer

This Permanent Fulltime opportunity is suited to someone who can step into a varied compliance-focused role and provide practical advice, sound judgement and strong customer service while working across a range of development matters.

In this role, you will undertake desktop assessments, property and site inspections, and compliance investigations relating to development approvals, plumbing, drainage and building compliance matters. You will review records and approvals, prepare clear reports and correspondence, provide guidance to external stakeholders, and work closely with internal teams to support appropriate compliance outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Conduct desktop assessments and property/site inspections.
- Perform compliance investigations related to development approvals, plumbing, drainage and building compliance matters.
- Review records and approvals and prepare clear reports and correspondence.
- Provide guidance to external stakeholders and collaborate with internal teams.

Qualifications

- Strong work ethic, sound investigation skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a busy, compliance-focused environment.
- Experience in compliance, investigations, development, building or regulatory environments.
- Current driver’s licence is required.
- Adaptable, resilient, able to work effectively under pressure while balancing multiple matters.




- Comfortable moving between office-based work and field-based inspections; ability to assess situations, manage risk and respond professionally to a range of compliance enquiries and complaints.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including investigating complaints, dealing with difficult conversations calmly and preparing accurate, well-structured reports and correspondence.
- Proactive, forward-thinking approach, strong attention to detail and confidence to make sound judgement calls.

Remuneration

- Stream A Level 4 – Base Annual Salary of $95,769.76.
- 18% superannuation (conditions apply).
