This position has been created in the Security and Intelligence Unit and delivers statewide capability uplift through training, interagency coordination, expert advice, and enhanced management of high‑risk offenders, aligning with the National Support and Intervention Program (NSIP).

Details of Appointment
Fixed‑term, full‑time day work for a period of 2 years.

Tasmania Prison Service (TPS)
has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale. The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on‑site parking and access to the on‑site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time).

Duties
Deliver CVE/CT training to build staff capability and support workforce development.
Lead interagency coordination, including development and implementation of a CVE Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Provide expert advice on extremist ideologies, pathways, and risk indicators.
Lead CVE/CT projects, including implementing review recommendations and improving Security Intelligence Unit workflows.
Strengthen intelligence and analytical capability for managing high‑risk offenders.
Provide high‑level intelligence analysis on offenders presenting extremist or extreme violence risks.
Support coordinated management of high‑risk offenders across custody, community corrections, and parole.
Liaise with stakeholders across government and contribute intelligence insights,
including responding to information requests.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
Understanding of prison operations and the broader justice system, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic security and intelligence setting.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance as a condition of employment.
