Service Mechanic – Field Based | Overtime + Allowances + Vehicle

RAM Equipment is looking for an experienced Service Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a predominantly field-based role where you'll be responsible for completing scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs across a fleet of heavy machinery, ensuring machines remain operational, compliant, and ready for work every day.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring RAM Equipment and customer machines are serviced on schedule, with a strong focus on completing daily service requirements safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

About the Role

- Predominantly field-based, servicing equipment on customer sites, with some workshop-based work at Richmond, SA
- Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on RAM Equipment and customer machines on a daily basis
- Plan and manage daily workloads to ensure all allocated services are completed on time
- Service, maintain, and repair heavy diesel and mobile plant equipment
- Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Attend breakdowns on-site and minimise downtime
- Assist with commissioning of new equipment
- Complete job cards, service reports,



and maintenance documentation accurately and promptly
- Maintain a clean and secure mobile workspace and service vehicle

- High standard of preventative maintenance and workmanship
- Accurate and timely completion of service records and job documentation
- Strong customer relationships and professional representation of RAM Equipment on-site
- Minimal machine downtime through proactive maintenance and fault identification

About You

- Trade qualified mechanic — Diesel/Mobile Plant, Heavy Vehicle, or Light Vehicle background all encouraged to apply
- Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver's Licence is mandatory
- Minimum 5 years' experience preferred
- Comfortable working independently on customer sites
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to complete multiple scheduled services each day
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining high productivity and service quality
- Committed to meeting daily maintenance schedules and customer expectations
- Experience with construction, mining, or industrial equipment (advantageous)
- Light vehicle service mechanics looking to transition into heavy equipment are encouraged to apply — training and support provided
- Reliable, self-motivated, and takes pride in their work
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
