Senior Property Officer

3-month contract

Paying up to $73 per hour + super

Hybrid working

Northern Suburbs Hays are excited to be partnering with a local council located in Melbourne's northern suburbs as they're seeking for an experienced Senior Property Officer for a short-term contract. This role will play a key role in the management of a diverse property portfolio and contribute to community outcomes while supporting leasing, licensing, compliance, stakeholder engagement, and strategic property projects.

About the Role

You will provide qualified property management support across a broad range of council-owned and managed assets. You will work closely with internal departments, community groups, tenants, contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective administration and ongoing management of the property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the administration and coordination of leases, licences and occupancy agreements.
- Prepare, review and maintain property documentation, correspondence and tenancy records.
- Ensure lease, licensing and compliance records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with property inspections, compliance monitoring and data collection activities.
- Monitor critical lease dates, renewals, rent reviews and other property obligations.
- Respond to property-related enquiries from tenants, community groups and internal stakeholders.




- Provide timely advice and support on property management matters.
- Contribute to property projects including acquisitions, disposals, valuations and asset planning initiatives.
- Assist with strategic property reviews, data audits and continuous improvement projects.
- Support the development and enhancement of property processes, policies and systems.

Key Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated experience in property management, leasing, local government property, facilities management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of lease and licence administration and associated property processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- High-level administrative capability with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, organise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise initiative and judgement.
- Understanding of property legislation, leasing frameworks and community occupancy agreements is highly regarded.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to broader organisational objectives.
