Our client, a prominent and rapid‑growing financial services institution based in the Sydney CBD, is seeking a Senior Regulatory Reporting Analyst to take ownership of regulatory reporting, financial control, and ongoing system uplift across their control division. This role plays a key part in strengthening reporting accuracy, enhancing controls, and driving continuous improvement across finance and risk.
You will act as the primary point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders, bringing strong APRA, statutory and AASB knowledge, and the confidence to partner closely with business leaders while supporting the team as 2IC. This position is ideal for a Senior Financial Accountant ready to step into an Assistant Manager‑level role with a clear regulatory and systems‑uplift focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Reporting (APRA) — preparation, review and uplift of prudential and statistical returns.
- Financial Statements & Consolidations — preparation of financial statements, review of accounts, and group consolidation.
- Liquidity & Cashflow Monitoring — assist in monitoring liquidity positions and cashflow analysis.
- Audit & Stakeholder Management — act as the first point of contact for auditors and internal stakeholders, resolving issues and ensuring smooth review cycles.
- Investment Group Reporting — prepare reports, insights and analysis for the investment group.
- Controls & Operational Risk — adhere to and review operational risk policies, contributing to stronger governance and reporting controls.
- System & Process Improvements — support reporting automation, system enhancements and control uplift initiatives across finance and risk platforms.
Skills & Experience Required
- CA / CPA qualified
- 4+ years’ experience in financial accounting, regulatory reporting or audit within financial services, investment management or large ASX‑listed environments
- Robust understanding of technical accounting, AASB standards and prudential reporting
- Experience auditing or reporting for large ASX‑listed or financial services organisations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Robust interest in process improvement, systems uplift and reporting accuracy
- Confident self‑starter who takes initiative and thrives in a collaborative team environment
