Hunter New England Local Health District We are an accredited unit with CICM and ACEM, located at Newcastle with a regional hub in Tamworth. The ICU is a 12‑bed unit including a 4‑bed HDU, admitting approximately 950 patients a year of which 30% are ventilated. What you’ll be doing The primary purpose of the position is to manage patients requiring intensive care, those at risk of clinical deterioration, and pre‑ and post‑intensive care evaluation, under supervision of consultants.
You will support ICU SRMOs, diagnose, treat and manage critically ill patients, including intra‑hospital transport.
Qualifications & Experience - Evidence of completing two full years of prevocational training.
- Interest in a future career in Intensive Care Medicine or acute care,
and evidence of ongoing career development.
- Capacity to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment.
- High organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
