Responsibilities

- Detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts.
- Perform electric and hybrid vehicle diagnostics and repair.
- Maintain and recondition high‑voltage batteries.
- Conduct automotive electrical and electronic troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems across a wide range of vehicle brands.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and check parts.
- Repair and replace worn or defective parts and reassemble mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications,



and engine tune‑ups to ensure smoother running of vehicles and compliance with pollution regulations.
- Reassemble engines and parts after repair.
- Test and adjust mechanical parts after repair for proper performance.
- Diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers.
- Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Qualification as a Motor Mechanic.
- Qualification as an Electric Vehicle Motor Mechanic is an advantage.
- Expertise in current motor vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Hold all industry required tickets and tools.
- Provide and maintain own commercial‑grade tools. A tool maintenance allowance is included in the salary package.
- Provide own vehicle to transport yourself and tools to the site.
- Maintain a current driver’s licence.
- Must have AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on‑the‑job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
