We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse to Ward 5D.
The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides advanced, person-centred nursing care and clinical leadership in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. This role involves autonomous clinical decision-making, leadership of the nursing team, and contributing to quality improvement and service innovation.
Ward 5D is the dedicated Oncology, Haematology and Palliative Care inpatient unit within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Cancer Care Service. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the CN provides direct patient care while undertaking Team Leader responsibilities, including staff coordination, patient flow, workforce allocation, and ensuring safe, high-quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, skilled standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Demonstrate advanced cancer care knowledge and skills to safely assess, educate, and support patients receiving inpatient cancer treatment. This includes expertise in cancer treatment modalities such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy, including the management of treatment-related side effects. The role also requires proficiency in the management of central venous access devices.
- This position requires you to adhere to National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the Sunshine Coast Health Safe Care Framework, which has been developed in collaboration with staff, consumers and key stakeholders to enable our vision of health and wellbeing through person-centred care.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Values.
Salary rates: $57.48 - $61.55 p.h. employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1) (Fixed Term Temporary Part-time, 48 hours p.f., up to 20/06/2027).
