Out of School Hours Care Coordinator (Fixed term)
Lead a thriving Out of School Hours Care service, creating a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where children can learn, play and develop meaningful connections before and after school.
Coordinate dynamic vacation care and holiday programs, delivering enriching experiences, excursions and activities that support the wellbeing and development of children and provide valuable support to families.
Build positive relationships with children, families, College staff and external providers, fostering a welcoming community and ensuring exceptional care and communication.
Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the OSHC service, including programming, compliance, staff leadership, budgeting and quality improvement to maintain a high‑quality and child‑focused service.
This fixed‑term opportunity is available for 12 months as parental leave cover, with the potential for extension beyond the initial contract period.
Role
12‑month fixed‑term contract (parental leave cover, commencing September) with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Junior School (Education and Care), the OSHC Coordinator plays a vital role in creating a safe, engaging and inclusive environment for children attending the College’s Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service. The position is responsible for leading the day‑to‑day operations of the service, ensuring children experience high‑quality care and enriching programs that support their wellbeing, development and sense of belonging.
This hands‑on leadership role combines program development, team supervision, stakeholder engagement, administration and compliance. Working closely with children, families, College staff and external providers, the OSHC Coordinator ensures the service operates efficiently, meets all regulatory requirements and reflects the College’s values and commitment to exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the College’s OSHC service, ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality care and engaging experiences for children.
- Design, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs that support children’s learning, wellbeing and recreation.
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of Vacation Care programs, including excursions, incursions, activity schedules and family communications.
- Provide leadership, support and supervision to OSHC team members, fostering a collaborative and child‑focused culture.
- Maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Regulations and College policies and procedures.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, staff and external stakeholders to support a welcoming and inclusive community.
- Manage enrolments, attendance records, bookings, rosters and administrative processes associated with the service.
- Monitor budgets, resources and purchasing requirements to ensure effective program operations.
- Oversee risk management, health and safety practices, and compliance documentation to maintain a safe environment for children and staff.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, using feedback and service data to enhance program quality and family satisfaction.

Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma‑level qualification in School Age Education and Care, Children’s Services, or a related field (or currently working towards completion), with eligibility to meet the regulatory requirements of the role.
- Demonstrated experience in an OSHC, childcare, education or recreation setting, including experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, My Time, Our Place and relevant legislation governing school‑aged care services.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor, support and develop staff.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families and colleagues.
- Proven organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience coordinating children’s programs, activities and/or vacation care programs.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and childcare management systems.
- Current Working With Children Check, First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualifications (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
