We are expanding our technical services team at St Ives, Kambalda. The successful candidate will work within a 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or live locally in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie and will be available for a one‑hour charter flight from Perth. This is an ideal role for an experienced underground mine planning engineer who seeks mentoring and leadership exposure.

Role Overview

As a Senior Medium‑Term Mine Planning Engineer, you will report to the Superintendent: Mine Planning and will facilitate the optimal extraction of gold ore through comprehensive underground mine planning, design, evaluation, and scheduling that drives the success of our operation.

Responsibilities

- Ensure the business can make informed decisions by identifying, planning, and communicating extraction strategies, critical path, and high‑risk areas as part of an iterative scenario planning process.
- Create, support, and manage underground short‑to‑medium‑term mine design, scheduling, and evaluation work, including the design of all aspects of an underground mine, such as ventilation, backfill, and other infrastructure.
- Lead and mentor the team to add further value to the Technical Services team.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.
- First‑class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency is desirable.
- High level of skills displayed in Deswik CAD, Deswik SO, and Deswik IS.
- Extensive underground mining experience in production, ventilation, projects, paste fill, planning, and scheduling.
