Exploration Geoscientist - Uranium

The role of Exploration Geoscientist - Uranium will contribute to the identification, evaluation, and advancement of high-quality uranium exploration opportunities globally. The role will support the development of a competitive uranium exploration portfolio by applying Mineral Systems thinking and integrated geoscience workflows to reduce search space and progress opportunities from concept through to drill testing. A key focus of this role will be to work closely with geoscientists, data scientists, and data engineers to support the development and maintenance of a global predictive uranium mineral system model.

Responsibilities

- A technical member of the uranium exploration team contributing to the identification, assessment, and progression of new uranium exploration opportunities globally and within defined regions.
- Collaborate with geoscientists and data scientists to support the development of a global predictive uranium mineral system model, including the definition of key mineral system components, mappable criteria, and dataset requirements.
- Work closely with data scientists and data engineers to design uranium-relevant feature layers, interrogate large datasets, test predictive criteria, and support prospectivity mapping workflows.
- Provide geological input into technical reviews, opportunity ranking, portfolio prioritisation, and investment recommendations.
- Provide technical input on uranium targeting, basin analysis, alteration systems, structural controls, geochemical vectors, geophysical responses, and exploration program design.
- Share uranium exploration knowledge, Mineral Systems thinking, data integration approaches, and technical interpretation skills across the exploration team.
- Collaborate with diverse, multidisciplinary, and talented investment teams to deliver efficient and effective exploration work programs.

Qualifications

- University Degree majoring in Geology. Post-graduate degrees in Economic Geology, Data Science, Uranium Systems, Basin Analysis, and/or related disciplines will be highly regarded (Master's or PhD).
- Typically 3–10 years of professional experience in geoscience, with practical exposure to uranium mineral systems and exploration preferred.
- Experience with basin-related uranium systems, particularly unconformity-related and sandstone-hosted deposits.
- Sound understanding and practical experience in identifying the critical geological, structural, hydrothermal, and basin-related processes required for the formation and preservation of uranium mineral systems.
- Working knowledge of the application of AI/ML methodologies to mineral exploration, such as feature engineering, predictive targeting, prospectivity analysis, and the integration of large geoscientific datasets.
- Capability in integrating geological, geochemical, geophysical, and spatial datasets, and working collaboratively with data scientists and data engineers to support predictive targeting and mineral systems modelling.
- Communicates technical concepts clearly to different audiences, including technical specialists, commercial stakeholders, and senior leaders.
- Has a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, inclusion, and diversity.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
