We are seeking TWO experienced Senior Cloud Engineers to support a major government ICT transformation program. This hands-on role will work within the Applications Workstream (WS4) and will be responsible for building, configuring and deploying Azure application hosting environments to support application migration, modernisation and delivery activities.

The role will act as a bridge between application delivery teams and the enterprise platform team, enabling rapid and secure delivery of application workloads while ensuring alignment with established cloud architecture, security and operational standards.

You MUST possess a minimum of an NV1 Security Clearance and be able to work in the Canberra office at least 3 days per week to be considered for these positions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provision and configure Azure application hosting services and supporting cloud resources.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Bicep, ARM or Terraform.
- Build and support Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and release automation.
- Configure and manage application platform services including networking, identity and security integrations.
- Support application migration and modernisation initiatives.
- Work closely with solution architects, developers and platform engineers to implement cloud solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, deployment and platform issues.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and operational support capabilities.
- Contribute to cloud engineering standards, reusable templates and automation frameworks.
- Ensure solutions comply with security, governance and operational requirements.

Skills and Experience:





- Demonstrated experience engineering and supporting solutions within Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, Terraform and/or ARM templates.
- Experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity and security concepts.
- Experience deploying and supporting cloud-hosted applications.
- Experience working within Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple teams.

- Government or highly regulated environments.
- Secure cloud environments aligned to ASD ISM, Essential Eight or Zero Trust principles.
- Container platforms and Kubernetes.
- Application performance monitoring and observability tooling.

What Success Looks Like:

- Application teams can rapidly provision and deploy Azure-hosted solutions.
- Infrastructure deployments are automated, repeatable and compliant.
- Application migrations are delivered efficiently with reduced dependency on central platform teams.
- Cloud environments are secure, operationally supportable and aligned to enterprise standards.
- Reusable cloud patterns and deployment templates are established for future application delivery.
