Overview

Our client is one of Australia's most recognised global product houses, operating at scale across multiple international markets. Their data engineering team sits at the core of the business, building and maintaining the platform that powers every product decision, every customer interaction, and every commercial outcome the organization makes.

You will be joining a high‑performing distributed team working across Melbourne, Recent York, and India. This is not a role where you are handed a backlog and told to ship tickets. Instead, you will work hands‑on across a modern data platform, contributing to real architectural decisions and collaborating directly with engineers and stakeholders across timezones to translate business problems into scalable data solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Building and evolving a modern data platform on BigQuery, Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt at scale and in production. Contributing to architectural decisions across the full data lifecycle including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery.



Building and operationalising AI and ML pipelines hands‑on, not from the sidelines. Collaborating closely with engineers and stakeholders across a globally distributed team to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions.

Requirements

- Strong hands‑on production experience with Apache Airflow, not just DAG development.
- Solid cloud platform experience with GCP preferred and AWS experience acceptable.
- Production‑grade experience with Snowflake and dbt in a real engineering environment.
- Comfort working across global timezones with a distributed team.
- Practical experience building AI and ML pipelines.

Desirable

- Essential dbt expertise including model materialisation strategies and cost‑aware design.
- CDP platform experience with RudderStack, Segment, or equivalent.
- Experience with agile delivery in a product engineering environment.
- Familiarity with martech stacks including CDPs, ad platforms, and analytics.
