Role Description
This is a part-time, in office Event Manager role based in Adelaide, SA. The Event Manager oversees the planning and delivery of events, including coordinating bookings, developing event timelines, and managing logistics such as catering, décor, and technical requirements. The role involves liaising with clients to understand event objectives, preparing proposals and run sheets, and ensuring all compliance, safety, and venue policies are followed. Day-to-day tasks include supervising event setup and pack-down, briefing and supporting staff and vendors, monitoring budgets,
and responding to issues in real time to maintain a high standard of guest experience as well as promoting and marketing the venue and public events. The Event Manager also contributes to post-event evaluation, process improvements, and building strong relationships that encourage repeat bookings.
Qualifications
- Experience in event planning and on-site event coordination, preferably in hospitality, clubs, or venues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, staff, and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams on event days and maintain a calm, solution-focused approach.
- Experience in marketing and communicating about the venue and its activities.
- Basic budgeting and cost-control skills, with attention to detail in contracts, schedules, and documentation.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
- Knowledge of event safety, risk management, and relevant local regulations is an advantage.
- Previous experience in an event management or similar role; formal qualifications in Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field are beneficial but not mandatory.
