Position type: Permanent part‑time (15.2 hours or 30.4 hours per week), days, nights and weekends. Casual opportunities available. Location: Triple Care Farm – Walawaani East Lynne NSW2536.
Pay: Permanent $37.08 per hour + super + not‑for‑profit salary packaging and penalty rates. Casual $46.35 per hour + super + penalty rates.
Role Overview
Walawaani East Lynne is a residential Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) rehabilitation program supporting young people aged 16–24 years on their recovery journey. We are seeking compassionate, motivated and reliable Residential Youth Workers to work on either a permanent part‑time, contract or casual basis in a roaster requiring 24/7 availability.
Responsibilities
- Build positive and professional relationships with young people aged 16–24years.
- Support participants to achieve their individual recovery and case‑plan goals.
- Act as a positive role model and maintain a safe, structured residential environment.
- Facilitate life‑skills development including budgeting, meal preparation, personal care and household responsibilities.
- Deliver recreational, sporting, leisure and wellbeing activities.
- Support young people through program participation and transitions.
- Assist with medication‑management processes and wellbeing monitoring.
- Maintain accurate case notes, reports and program documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, training and continuous‑improvement activities.
- Promote a strong culture of child and youth safety.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Certificate qualification in Community Services or a related field,
or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience working with young people and/or within community services, residential care, mental health, AOD or related settings.
- Understanding of trauma‑informed practice, youth engagement and duty‑of‑care principles.
- Knowledge of mental health and substance‑use issues affecting young people.
- Robust interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Positive, person‑centred approach and belief in every young person's capacity for growth and change.
- Strong professional boundaries and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Current NSW Driving Licence.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Will undertake national police history check, qualifications and referee checks and obtain clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
