Disability Support Worker. Permanent Part Time & Casual - Cairns

This is a permanent part‑time & casual position located in Cairns & Far North.

About the role

Provide active support to people with disability in Cairns across Supported Independent Living (SIL). The people you will support are looking for passionate & highly skilled support workers who are experienced in providing complex health care supports, positive behaviour support, medication administration and personal care. An understanding of approved restrictive practices will also be highly regarded.

As a Disability Support Worker in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you will assist people with disability to live independently in shared accommodation or their own homes. This includes providing personal care and supporting daily living activities, all within a well‑supported organisation that offers comprehensive wrap‑around supports.

You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster, including sleep‑over & active night shifts. Availability to work these shifts is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Follow person‑centred support and positive behaviour support plans
- Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
- Maintain thorough record keeping
- Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

- Ability to work within a positive behaviour support framework and approved restrictive practices
- Complex health care support including medication administration
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to transparent probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check, Working With Children Check (Blue Card)



and obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
