This role is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond sprinkler layouts and become a well-rounded Fire Protection Consultant.

Responsibilities & Expectations

- Hands-on with Fire Protection design (wet and dry).
- Take ownership of projects from concept through to completion.
- Work alongside experienced Fire Engineers and Fire Protection specialists to expand knowledge.
- Broaden technical capability and project delivery experience across a diverse portfolio.
- Solve complex design challenges while remaining closely involved throughout project delivery.
- Scope long-term opportunities in technical leadership, team leadership or project management.




- Deliver complex fire protection projects from concept through to completion.
- Manage own project programmes, budgets and design deliverables.
- Coordinate architects and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
- Participate in client meetings and design workshops.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs and support projects during construction.
- Balance technical excellence with timeframes, budgets and client expectations.
- Mentor junior designers as experience grows.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of industry experience as Fire Protection Designer or Engineer.
- Previous experience within a fire consulting or contracting setting.
- Experience designing wet fire systems including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels and special hazards.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant compliance requirements.
- Ability to independently manage project deliverables, programmes and budgets.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Genuine passion for technical excellence and continual professional development.
