Astra Healthcare & Services Pty Ltd is seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals living with disability. You will assist participants to achieve greater independence, enhance their quality of life, and actively participate in their communities.

Task & responsibilities

- Support participants in Supported Independent Living (SIL) to build independence and develop everyday living skills.
- Administer medication in line with training, instructions, and organisational policies.
- Deliver support in accordance with individual participant support plans.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, transport, education, and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide safe and effective support for participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes, handover records, and incident reports.
- Encourage community participation by supporting participants to access social, recreational, cultural, and community activities.




- Work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds while maintaining legal, ethical, and professional standards.

Qualification & experience

- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or related qualifications.
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, including those with complex medical needs or behaviours of concern.
- Current Australian driver's licence or willingness to have one.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to take one.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends.
- Current Manual Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain.
