Job Description

As Team Leader - Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Access (CA), you will be responsible for the management and delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and supports within one or more SIL homes and/or Community Access. This role combines direct participant care, administration, staff supervision, stakeholder engagement, and compliance.

You’ll support wellbeing of participants, lead and develop the support team, and uphold ITEC Group’s values and standards.

No two days are the same in this values-driven team, and your work will directly contribute to creating secure and supportive environments for our valuable clients.

Primary Responsibilities

- Service Delivery & Participant Support: ensure delivery of high quality care and support according to relevant documentation (support plans, behaviour plans, care plans).
- Ensure the administration documents are up to date and management efficiently.
- Lead, support, and empower a team of Disability Support Workers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Support the process of onboarding, induction, performance reviews, mentoring, training/development for staff.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, families, advocates, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with external providers and community partners.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and organisational requirements (SCHADS Award, NDIS Practice Standards) and participate in audits.
- Oversee the management of incidents, complaints, and feedback to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Oversee the monitoring, management, and reconciliation of participant and provision funds.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance issues are reported and managed promptly.
- Support stable service delivery by minimising unfilled shifts, reducing avoidable cancellations, and promoting continuity of care within SIL homes and Community Access.




- Contribute to occupancy and utilisation outcomes by maintaining accurate documentation, timely communication of vacancies or changes in participant needs, and effective local rostering practices.
- Support onboarding of new participants at site level, including preparation of the environment, staff readiness, and implementation of support documentation.
- Build and maintain positive local relationships with participants, families, Support Coordinators, and allied health providers to support service continuity and referrals.
- Identify and escape local opportunities or risks impacting service sustainability (e.g. emerging vacancies, changes in participant support needs) to the Service Delivery Manager.

About the Candidate

- Minimum Certificate III in Disability Support or related field (essential).
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role and managing a team in a residential and/or community setting.
- Experience working with participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
- Strong knowledge of person-centred active support, NDIS Practice Standards, and SCHADS Award requirements.
- Strong organisational and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal ability.
- Familiarity with digital care or rostering systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- First Aid and CPR
