Paediatric Speech Pathologist | Leichhardt
Are you a passionate Paediatric Speech Pathologist looking for a role where you can grow your clinical skills, build genuine relationships with families, and have the autonomy to shape your career? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Speech Pathologist to join our close-knit team at Speech & Growth Clinic in Leichhardt.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established paediatric practice with a wonderful client base, strong referral networks, a beautiful clinic space and a team that genuinely enjoys working together.
We really value clinical growth, independence and collaboration. We want our clinicians to feel supported, while also having the freedom to develop their own clinical style, pursue their interests and become confident, independent therapists.
The Role
This is a full-time position based at our Leichhardt clinic, working with a diverse and interesting paediatric caseload. You’ll be part of a genuinely collaborative multidisciplinary team (MDT), working alongside Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists.
Our Leichhardt clinic is shared with the incredible team at Child Sense Occupational Therapy. This creates regular opportunities to collaborate on shared clients, discuss therapy goals, run joint sessions and learn from other disciplines.
You’ll also be working alongside experienced Speech Pathologists within our team. There is always someone around to discuss a tricky assessment with, bounce an idea off, problem-solve with or simply have a chat about a client.
We really value learning from one another. We want our clinicians to feel comfortable asking questions, discussing cases and sharing ideas, while also bringing their own knowledge and experience to the team.
For an early-career clinician, this means having genuine support and mentorship while developing your clinical reasoning and confidence. For a more experienced clinician, it means being part of a team where you can share your expertise, collaborate with others and continue to grow.
We don’t want to micromanage our clinicians. We want you to have the support you need, while trusting you to manage your caseload, make clinical decisions and develop your own way of working.
Professional development is also important to us. If there’s an area you’re particularly interested in, we want to support you to keep learning and developing your expertise.
Ultimately, we want you to feel supported when you need support, challenged to keep growing, and trusted to work independently.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
We want our clinicians to genuinely enjoy coming to work. We’re a close-knit team, so you’ll actually get to know the people you work with. There’s plenty of opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, celebrate successes and support each other through the more challenging cases.
You’ll have
- A genuinely collaborative MDT setting
- Experienced clinicians to collaborate with and learn from
- Clinical support and supervision when you need it
- Solid relationships with Occupational Therapists and Psychologists
- A diverse and interesting paediatric caseload
- A strong and established referral base
- Professional development support and incentives
- Flexible start and finish times
- The prospect to develop your own clinical interests
- Increasing autonomy as your confidence grows
- Opportunities to work across clinic, preschool, school and community settings
- A friendly, supportive and genuinely collaborative team
We want to create an environment where clinicians can learn from each other, share their strengths and continue to grow, regardless of where they are in their career.
Our Leichhardt Clinic
Our Leichhardt clinic is shared with the wonderful team at Child Sense Occupational Therapy. There are lots of opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, including joint therapy sessions, groups, shared clients and regular discussions with the OT team. We also have access to their sensory gym, which is a great resource for our clients.
You’ll also have opportunities to collaborate with psychologists from Diverse Minds Psychology.
We love working alongside other allied health professionals. It creates opportunities for shared learning, different perspectives and, ultimately, better outcomes for the children and families we work with.
And when you’re finished for the day, you’re just a short stroll from Norton Plaza, great coffee and some of the best Italian food around.
The Caseload
We have a strong referral base and a varied paediatric caseload, which may include:
- Speech sound disorders
- Language delays and disorders
- Literacy difficulties
- Stuttering
- Autism
- ADHD
- Down syndrome
- AAC assessment and intervention, including high-tech AAC such as Proloquo2Go
There’s plenty of variety, and you’ll also have the chance to develop a caseload that reflects your own clinical interests over time. We’re proud of the relationships we’ve built with our families and the trust they place in our clinicians.
More Than Just Clinic-Based Therapy
While this is primarily a clinic-based role, there are also opportunities to work across preschools, schools, playgroups and community settings. Depending on your interests, this might include:
- Parent coaching and capacity building
- Educator training
- Preschool and school visits
- Community-based therapy
- Group programs
- Collaboration with community organisations and playgroups
Our clinicians have provided parent training and support through organisations such as Play2Learn Playgroups (54 Reasons – Save the Children). We like having this variety because it keeps the work interesting and allows you to make a difference outside of the therapy room.
About You
You might be an early-career clinician who is keen to develop your confidence and independence, or an experienced clinician looking for a supportive and cooperative team. We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about paediatric speech pathology
- Warm, approachable and family-centred
- Keen to continue developing their clinical skills
- Comfortable working independently, while knowing when to collaborate or seek support
- Interested in collaborative and interdisciplinary practice
- Excited by variety and community-based work
- Motivated to build genuine relationships with children, families and educators
- A team player who enjoys sharing ideas and learning from others
Early-career clinicians are very welcome to apply. You’ll have access to support and mentorship while developing your confidence, clinical reasoning and independence. Experienced clinicians are equally encouraged to apply, particularly if you’re looking for a collaborative environment where you can bring your own expertise, work autonomously and continue developing professionally.
A current driver’s licence and access to a car is required.
What We Offer
- Full-time position based at our Leichhardt clinic
- Adaptable start and finish times
- Clinical supervision and support when needed
- A collaborative team of experienced clinicians
- A genuinely multidisciplinary working environment
- Professional development support and incentives
- A diverse and interesting paediatric caseload
- A strong referral base
- Opportunities to work across clinic, preschool, school and community settings

- A supportive, friendly and genuinely collaborative team

A Role Where You Can Actually Grow
We’re proud of the clinic we’ve built and, most importantly, the relationships we’ve developed with our families. We want Speech & Growth Clinic to be somewhere you can learn, be supported, develop your confidence, have autonomy and genuinely enjoy the people you work with.
Whether you’re early in your career or have years of experience behind you, we want you to feel that you can bring something valuable to the team, continue learning and shape your own career.
If you’re passionate about helping children thrive and are looking for a role with a excellent client base, strong clinical support, genuine professional development opportunities, a collaborative MDT and the freedom to grow into your own style as a clinician, we’d love to hear from you.
