Who you would support

Participants who receive support coordination often have physical, intellectual, or psychosocial disability and may have multiple support needs across health, housing, employment, and community participation. Some are new to formal systems, while others are experienced self-advocates who need a coordinator mainly for brokerage and reporting.

How Carevo works

Register a profile on Carevo listing your qualifications, the participant cohorts you have experience with, your availability, and the areas near Australia where you work. Carevo presents your profile to NDIS registered providers in our network who are looking for support coordination capacity. When a provider identifies your profile as a match, they contact you directly to discuss participants, caseload, and working arrangements. There is no fixed pool of vacancies; you register once, and providers reach out.

Pay for support coordinators is influenced by qualifications, experience, whether you are employed by a provider or operate as an independent contractor, and the funded support category.

Required qualifications

The experience and qualities providers in the Carevo network look for include:

- Qualification in Social Work, Allied Health, Community Services, or a related field (Certificate IV minimum, degree preferred)
- Solid knowledge of the NDIS framework, plan types, and funding categories
- Experience helping participants source, book, and manage support services
- Ability to navigate complex family and service system dynamics with professionalism
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a caseload across multiple participants
- Clear, accurate written communication for NDIS progress reports and service agreements
- Reliable vehicle and current driver’s licence
- Experience with participants who have complex support needs or psychosocial disability (valued)

Checks and credentials

To start work, you may need checks and credentials. Costs and timing vary by state and role and can be finalised with Carevo before checks are completed.

- Police checks, NDIS Worker Screening, and role-specific qualifications (costs and processing times vary)
- Registration and audits against NDIS Practice Standards may be required
- Driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle recommended

What support coordinator pay looks like

Support coordinators are typically paid under the SCHADS Award, with rates varying by qualifications and complexity. Example ranges (subject to change):

- Weekday:



44–53 AUD per hour
- Saturday: 67–80 AUD per hour
- Sunday: 89–107 AUD per hour
- Public holiday: 111–133 AUD per hour
- Casual employees may receive a 25% loading
