About Us
Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi‑disciplinary organization which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.
Anyinginyi consists of four different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji‑Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.
Anyinginyi's mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.
What We Offer
- Salary packaging up to $15,899.94 per annum.
- 6 weeks annual leave and personal/carer’s leave up to 10 days per year.
- Up to $1,500 study allowance after 1 year of service.
- Study leave can be negotiated.
- Remote retention allowance of $1,500 after 1 year of service and $3,000 after 2 years’ service.
- Annual remote travel allowance of $1,500 for personal travel after 1 year of service.
- Annual local bi‑lingual allowance up to $1,500.

About the Role
The Maintenance Officer is responsible for maintaining the grounds of all Anyinginyi Health properties, both business and residential, maintenance of all building needs and providing assistance in contracts, stores receivership, hazardous waste disposal, and contractor requirements for new building upgrades where directed.
The Maintenance Officer is an integral part of the high standard of presentation and maintenance of Anyinginyi buildings and services to internal and external parties for property and asset delivery and management.
Responsibilities
- Respect for traditional Aboriginal culture and cultural diversity and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal/culturally diverse people.
- Gardening experience including experience with garden irrigation systems and small engines.
- Knowledge of plants and their needs, including different soil requirements, position requirements, pruning, etc.
- Ability to identify recurring gardening and maintenance requirements.
- Ability to complete necessary documentation for task reporting and actioning.
- Ability to communicate and respond to personnel in a diverse working setting.
- Reliability, ability to work with a high level of quality, unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace.
- Current NT Driver's licence.
- Possession of or ability to obtain an OCHRE Card.
- Preferred to be fully COVID‑19 vaccinated.
Desirable
- 4WD licence.
About You
To be considered for this position, you must maintain respect for traditional culture and cultural diversity and acquire the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse working environment. Previous experience or qualifications within gardening, labouring or maintenance will be highly regarded but is not mandatory.
The Maintenance Officer requires a current NT Driver’s licence, free from any restrictions, to be successful in their application.
Additional Requirements
A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children’s) card obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role.
