About the Candidate
You're a resilient, heart-led skilled who brings:
- A Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention (or equivalent)
- A current Blue Card
- A full Australian Driver's Licence
- Full working rights in Australia
- A strong ability to build trust with diverse young people
- Flexibility to work 5 x 24-hour shifts per fortnight
- Emotional strength and resilience in high-pressure environments
- A genuine passion for mentoring and teaching life skills
Work Environment
In this permanent, full-time role, you'll work directly with young people in a 24-hour care residential setting, helping them build resilience, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.
You’ll work an average of 5 x 24-hour shifts per fortnight on a rotating roster – giving you meaningful time off while still making a deep impact.
Travel within the Townsville region is required – a work vehicle is provided while on shift.
What You’ll Do
- Be a stable, supportive presence in the lives of young people
- Help develop their life skills, confidence, and independence
- Work through tough times together, providing emotional and practical support
- Advocate for their needs and wellbeing as part of a wider care team
- Collaborate with Case Managers and community services to support long-term outcomes
