Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Banquet Chef to join a highly skilled kitchen team delivering exceptional wedding and event experiences. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in executing high-quality banquet service while supporting the daily operation of the kitchen.

This role will suit a chef with previous functions, events, or wedding experience who thrives in a structured environment where quality, presentation, and attention to detail are paramount.

You will have the opportunity to work with premium local produce, contribute to memorable guest experiences, and further develop your career within a supportive and professional culinary team.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation and execution of wedding and event menus
- Deliver exceptional food quality and presentation across all services
- Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
- Maintain consistency and efficiency during high-volume banquet service
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen team members
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards are maintained
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen culture
- Work closely with the wider events team to deliver seamless guest experiences

About the Candidate

- Previous experience as a Banquet Chef, Function Chef, or experienced Chef de Partie within events, catering, or wedding venues
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher
- Strong understanding of banquet and large-scale service operations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced and detail-driven environment
- Passion for quality produce and exceptional food presentation
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Flexibility to work weekends and event schedules as required
