Position Type: Ready to build a future in one of NSW’s most sought-after rural regions? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Station Hand to join our client’s team on a well-established sheep and cattle property in the stunning New England region. You’ll be hands-on across the whole operation, working alongside the Manager and Overseer, giving you the chance to learn and contribute. This is a permanent, long-term role for the right applicant.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out all aspects of day-to-day sheep and cattle operations
- Low-stress stock handling, mustering on bikes and working dogs
- Yard work, including drafting, drenching, lamb marking, and livestock processing
- All aspects of property maintenance – fencing, water infrastructure, and yards upkeep
- Take instructions and guidance from management
- Working as part of an established station team
Key Qualities for Successful Applicants:
- Prior knowledge and experience with sheep is essential
- Low-stress stock handling skills
- Competent with motorbikes, two–wheelers and operating side–by–side vehicles
- Solid property maintenance and upkeep skills
- Accurate record-keeping skills
- Be honest and trustworthy
- Be physically fit & able-bodied
- Have the ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
- Valid driver's licence & own vehicle
A small number of working dogs are advantageous. On-site single accommodation is provided, plus electricity. You’ll also enjoy plenty of opportunities to grow your skills, job stability, and a excellent lifestyle in the New England region of NSW.
