Store Manager – Hawks Nest Local Grocer

We're looking for an experienced, energetic and hands-on Store Manager to lead our team at Hawks Nest Local Grocer. About the Role

As Store Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the store, ensuring every department is well presented, fully stocked and delivering an exceptional shopping experience. You'll lead by example, motivate your team and drive sales while maintaining high standards across the business.

What You'll Bring

- Previous supermarket management experience (Independent supermarket or IGA experience highly regarded)
- Strong knowledge and experience using WorldSmart retail systems
- Experience with ordering systems and replenishment processes
- Proven experience managing fresh departments, including Produce, Meat, Deli and Bakery
- Excellent stock control and inventory management skills
- Experience analysing sales, reducing waste and improving gross profit
- Ability to lead, coach and develop a team
- Strong understanding of merchandising, promotional execution and store presentation




- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A customer-first attitude with a passion for community retail

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support the store team on the shop floor every day
- Manage store operations, merchandising and presentation standards
- Oversee ordering, stock control and inventory accuracy
- Monitor sales, wages, shrinkage and key performance indicators
- Ensure fresh departments maintain exceptional quality and availability
- Coach and develop department managers and team members
- Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve customer enquiries professionally
- Maintain food safety, workplace health and safety, and company compliance standards
- Build a positive team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
