About the Role
Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high‑quality patient care. As a Patient Transport Officer, you’ll support people in your community by providing safe, professional non‑emergency patient transport—helping patients move comfortably between home, hospitals, and specialist appointments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessment and intervention during road transport
- Deliver protected, compassionate care aligned with RFDS clinical guidelines and NEPT regulations
- Monitor patients and evaluate responses to treatment en route
- Work collaboratively with a partner clinician in a team‑based model
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum qualification of Cert III in Non‑Emergency Patient care, Diploma of Nursing, or equivalent. Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic) students may apply on completion of second year subject units
- Experience working in the NEPT sector in an equal role desirable but not essential
- Full Victorian Driver Licence
- National Police Check, Working with Children Check and right to work in Australia
