Role Description
The Human Resources Manager is a part‑time, 2 to 3 days per week, on‑site role based in Gordon, NSW. This role is responsible for overseeing all HR functions, including recruitment and onboarding, performance management, learning and development, and employee relations. The Human Resources Manager will develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support a professional, ethical, and collaborative workplace aligned with the firm’s values and legal obligations. Day‑to‑day tasks include advising partners and managers on HR matters, managing payroll and benefits in coordination with finance, maintaining HR records,
and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and workplace health and safety requirements. The role also involves leading initiatives to enhance employee engagement, supporting workforce planning, and contributing to long‑term people strategies that help the firm attract, retain, and develop legal and administrative talent.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Human Resources management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, workplace health and safety requirements, and HR compliance practices, ideally within qualified services or legal environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution abilities, with the capacity to build trust and work effectively with partners, lawyers, and support staff.
- Proficiency in HR information systems, payroll coordination, and Microsoft Office, with sound organizational and time‑management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Law, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality, with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Experience designing and delivering training, supporting change initiatives, and driving employee engagement and wellbeing programs.
- Proven ability to work independently on‑site while contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.
