About The Role

The University of Newcastle is seeking to appoint three Lecturers (Level B) in Computing and Information Technology as part of a strategic expansion of capability in high‑impact areas of digital technologies.

These appointments form part of a coordinated recruitment initiative led by the School of Computer and Information Sciences to build strength in areas including

- Trustworthy and secure artificial intelligence
- AI engineering and machine learning systems
- Cybersecurity and secure software systems
- Human‑centred computing and responsible digital technologies

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants will have a PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related area, and should demonstrate specialisation in one or more of the areas listed above.

The School is investing in building a collaborative research and education cluster in these areas, with robust opportunities to contribute to innovative teaching, interdisciplinary research and industry‑engaged programs.

The successful candidates will join a dynamic School spanning the disciplines of Computing and IT, Data Science and Statistics, and Mathematics, providing opportunities to work across disciplines and build impactful research and education programs.
