Remuneration Package: Total value $168,946.00 (Base salary $149,059.00, plus leave loading and superannuation contribution)

Overview

Fairvale Public School is located in South West Sydney and serves approximately 470 students, 87% from language backgrounds other than English. The school offers quality programs in the creative arts, sport, and extracurricular activities and is committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes, strengthening community engagement, and implementing the 2024–2027 School Excellence Plan.

The school is structured into stage‑based teaching teams, an enrichment class, an Intensive English class, and an Autism class (established 2026). Staff include a mix of experienced and early‑career teachers, supported by School Learning Support Officers, School Administrative Officers, and a Business Manager. The executive team comprises one Principal, three Assistant Principals (Curriculum & Instruction and two others), who collaboratively lead teaching, learning, and whole‑school improvement.

Selection Criteria

- Successful teaching experience with the capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning, and classroom practice.
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare, with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
- Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.




- Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach infants and/or primary 1.
- Experience in building staff capacity through instructional leadership while balancing classroom teaching and school leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing high‑quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs, using explicit, evidence‑based teaching practices and driving whole‑school improvement through data analysis.
- Visible and team-oriented leader who fosters a positive inclusive school culture, implementing effective behaviour management strategies and well‑being initiatives.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you must commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
